According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo will captain the All-Star Team against Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday in a friendly game.

Cristiano Ronaldo is scheduled to play his first game ever in Saudi Arabia but not for his new club Al Nassr.

Officials said on Monday that the Portuguese attacker would play for Riyadh ST XI in a friendly exhibition game against Paris Saint-Germain on January 19, the high-stakes match is scheduled to take place at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, two of the greatest footballers of all time, may not play in the same league, but the biggest football stakeholders have worked tirelessly to persuade them to play against one another, possibly for the last time.

According to reports, the 37-year-old the All-Star XI on Thursday against Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain, which will also feature several Saudi Arabian national team players.

The information was released in a tweet from Turki Al-Sheikh, the current chairman of Saudi Arabia’s general authority for entertainment.

Along with text, the tweet included a video of Ronaldo donning the captain’s armband.

Messi and Ronaldo, probably the two greatest rivals in football, haven’t faced off since Juventus defeated Barcelona 3-0 in a UEFA Champions League match in December 2020.

There is still time for Ronaldo to make his Saudi Arabian League debut for his new team, Al Nassr.

The former United player joined the Saudi team after Portugal was eliminated from the World Cup in Qatar after a lucrative deal worth more than €200 million ($216.34 million) was reportedly offered to him.

The former Real Madrid and Juventus forward who arrived in the country of the Gulf in the first week of January is yet to play for his new club due to FA suspension.

In April 2022, during his second stint with Manchester United, he was serving a two-match FA suspension after kicking a cellphone out of an Everton supporter’s hands.

Ronaldo is anticipated to don the Al Nassr outfit for the first time in a Saudi Pro League game against Al Ettifaq on January 22.
