Magician David Copperfield is facing serious allegations of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behavior from 16 women, as revealed in an investigation by the U.S. bureau of The Guardian, a British newspaper.

According to the accusations, Copperfield is alleged to have drugged three women before engaging in sexual activity with them, with the women claiming they were unable to consent due to being in a compromised state.

Shockingly, half of these allegations involve women who say they were under 18 years old at the time of the incidents, with some as young as 15. These incidents are reported to have occurred between the late 1980s and 2014.

This isn’t the first time Copperfield has faced allegations of sexual impropriety. Back in 2018, he vehemently denied similar accusations, stating on Twitter that he has endured years of false news stories about fabricated acts and emphasized his innocence.

In response to the recent allegations, Copperfield has denied any wrongdoing when questioned by The Guardian prior to the release of their investigation.

His legal team has strongly refuted the newspaper’s claims, asserting that Copperfield has never behaved inappropriately with anyone, especially minors, and labeling the allegations of inappropriate touching as both untrue and implausible.

In his defense, Copperfield has stated that those who know him well understand that the recent accusations are completely contrary to his character. He has a track record of standing up for women’s rights and has risked his career to protect them from abuse.

He has requested evidence to support the claims against him but has not received any. Additionally, he highlights that thorough investigations by U.S. law enforcement have consistently found no basis for these allegations.

Copperfield emphasizes that The Guardian’s portrayal of him does not reflect who he truly is and expresses his support for victims of abuse and discrimination.

While acknowledging the importance of movements against abuse, he insists that false accusations must be addressed for progress to occur.

Copperfield intends to consult with his legal team to determine the appropriate course of action in response to these defamatory claims.
