Davido, the Afrobeat singer, has finally opened up about the heartbreaking loss of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke. During a recent podcast interview, Davido shared how he managed to release his album, “Timeless,” despite the tragic event.
Contrary to what many fans expected, Davido surprised them by delivering energetic and captivating tracks instead of somber songs on his album.
Although Davido has gradually overcome the difficult period after his son’s passing, he still finds himself shedding tears every morning as a way to honor his memory.

He said: “I miss him every day, there’s tears coming out of my eyes every morning, you don’t have to see it,
“I look at myself in the mirror and I said apart from it just being about me, I know how many people love me, I know how many people are depending on me.
“My son up there is looking down at me. Apart from me being strong for his mom, which is my primary responsibility, I have to be strong for the world.
“A lot of people thought the album was just going to be a lot of sad songs, we gave them bangers on bangers.
“My son is dancing and my mom is dancing in heaven. So for people to see that it’s possible to stand up again and be able to work, it’s only God.
“Those were one of the things that and my wife relied on, God is real. Then everything just aligned back, we performed better, business is better.”
The sad news of Ifeanyi’s death was announced on Monday night, October 31, 2022, just a few days after celebrating his third birthday which was on October 20th.
And according to reports, Ifeanyi got drowned in a pool at Davido’s Banana Island home.
Confirming the death of his son, the popular Nigerian Singer and entertainer, Davido took to his official Instagram account on Monday night where he shared a black photo with the caption; “Trying Times. But my God is Always and Forever Faithful”
