The Nigerian gospel music industry mourns as sad news hits with the passing of one of their own, Dele Gold.

The Popular singer who goes by his legal name Dele Agbeyo’s death was announced on social media on Wednesday by a fellow artiste, Alayo Melody.

Confirming Dele Gold’s death, Melody wrote, “Dele Gold died kee? Ahhh This is getting too much!!!! May God help us stop this untimely death. Dele Agbeyo May your soul rest well.”

Dele who is also known as The Miliki Gospel King per reports died on Wednesday after a brief illness.

This sad news hits hard as Dele’s death comes just a month following the death of gospel singer Aduke Gold.

According to Pmnewsnigerian, Dele Gold revealed that his passion for music was inspired by a series of dreams. Despite not originally seeing himself as a musician, he pursued his calling with the guidance of God.

He revealed in an interview before his death that he was initially indifferent about becoming a singer but was driven to pursue the path after a series of dreams where he found himself composing and singing. He believed his musical calling was divinely inspired.

The cause of his death at the time of this publication remains unknown.
