Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid will face off in the United States for the second time in the history of El Clasico
The company that helped build T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas has launched an inaugural international “Soccer Champions Tour,” matching some of the world’s best-known soccer teams competing in top-tier matches during a nine-day stretch in the western United States, including Las Vegas.

Allegiant Stadium is a domed stadium located in Paradise, Nevada, United States. It serves as the home stadium for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Rebels college football team. It also serves as the home of the Las Vegas Bowl, and the Vegas Kickoff Classic.
The stadium which opened in 2020 with the goal of attracting more sports is estimated to have cost roughly 1.8 billion dollars. The stadium, which is located in the city of Paradise, south of Las Vegas, has a seating capacity of 65,000 people.
It now features state-of-the-art technology, placing it among the greatest stadiums in the United States as a result of this investment, and was chosen to host the 2024 Super Bowl.
A series of movable panels run the length of the colossus, allowing natural light to seep through. It has one of the world’s most advanced lighting and sound systems.

Barcelona and Real Madrid will play El Clasico outside of Europe for only the second time in history on July 23 with temperatures ranging between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius, thus the air system will be crucial in providing perfect conditions for spectators and players.
The other matches tied to the tour include Real Madrid versus Club America at Oracle Park in San Francisco and Barcelona taking on Juventus at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, both on July 26.
The fifth match of the tour is Real Madrid against Juventus on July 30 at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California.
There’s also another high-profile matchup of two international soccer powers at Allegiant Stadium in July when 2020-2021 UEFA Champions League Champion Chelsea FC and Mexico’s winningest team, Club América, play indoors at the NFL Raiders stadium July 16.
“This is a soccer town,” Steve Hill, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority CEO and president, said last month. “ It is a huge sport here and it’s a great draw for tourists and our guests.”
“Las Vegas is Las Vegas. It’s the entertainment capital of the world. It was almost a no-brainer for us to do it,” said Tom Braun, AEG senior vice president of soccer & business operations and business development.
The stadium, which can slide in various playing surfaces into the venue, will use a grass field for the soccer matches.
AEG expects a mix of locals and visitors for the two games at Allegiant Stadium.
When it comes to soccer and Las Vegas, there is also talk of Major League Soccer expanding to Vegas. The stadium has already hosted a Gold Cup Mexico vs USA Final in August 2021.
