Elon Musk has reportedly expressed interest in purchasing the iconic Premier League club, Liverpool FC, his father, Errol Musk, has confirmed.
The Tesla and SpaceX mogul, who has an estimated net worth of $418 billion, may be looking to expand his business empire into the world of football.
During an interview on Times Radio in London, a reporter asked Errol Musk whether his son had shown any desire to buy the football club.
While initially reluctant to comment, Errol laughed and eventually confirmed, “Oh, yes. But that doesn’t mean he’s buying it. He would like to, yes, obviously. Anybody would want to – so would I!”
Errol went on to explain that the Musk family has deep ties to Liverpool, which could explain his son’s interest. “His grandmother was born in Liverpool, and we had relatives in Liverpool,” Errol said.
“We were fortunate to know quite a lot of the Beatles because they grew up with some of my family. So, we are attached to Liverpool, you know.”

Musk has previously spoken fondly of his grandmother, who was born in 1923 and passed away in 2011. He described her as a key influence on his childhood, recalling that she was “one of the poor working-class girls with no one to protect her.”
Musk has also mentioned his respect for those who worked hard to make ends meet, particularly people who cleaned houses during the tough times of the Great Depression and World War II.
Musk’s ties to Liverpool and his admiration for his grandmother could be fueling his desire to buy the club.
However, it remains unclear whether his interest will translate into an actual bid for the iconic Premier League team.
