Erik ten Hag: We can be dangerous in the transition moments following United’s 1-0 victory over Leicester.

Another clean sheet for a Manchester United club that appears to have recovered its identity and direction, moving them up to fifth in the Premier League.

Erik ten Hag, who was watching from the sidelines and aware that his revolution is starting to take shape, did not exactly find it to be captivating or classic.

The winning goal by United in the 23rd minute was beautifully straightforward and embarrassing for Leicester.

Sancho was then sent free by Rashford’s deft through-pass, and the United winger sped in, rounded Ward, and then slammed the ball into an empty net to the delight of the opposing end.

And that is currently Leicester’s issue with their dismal winless start to the season. The King Power is one of the loudest and most passionate stadiums in the Premier League, has fallen so flat.

Sancho and Rashford were threatening anytime they connected for United thanks to Fernandes’ encouragement.

Furthermore, it is very simple to weaken Leicester’s defense when there is a pattern to United’s play.

They work harder, and even when Leicester improved in the second half, the visitors were quick and ferocious into tackles, demonstrating that the ten Hag effect is obviously taking hold.

James Maddison twice attempted to score from the edge of the box with free kicks, but both attempts were blocked by David de Gea and hit the wall.

Ronaldo’s daring overhead kick, however, flashed across the goal and provided little assistance.

James Justin of Leicester made a slicing error in stoppage time, but in all actuality, United had a far too easy victory.

Sancho spoke to BT Sport after the game and said:

This season I have done pre-season with the team, my first pre-season I missed so this year I have got to know the players a lot more and we have worked on a few things, and I am getting comfortable now.”

Sancho on his goal said: “Yeah it was a great team goal. I am just happy I got a goal for the team and the three points.”

Ten Hag was especially pleased with how the players on the field supported one another during the entire 90 minutes.

Erik ten Hag immediately responded to United’s victory over Leicester on BT Sport by saying:

“A step forward. We are happy with that and again a good team spirit and 11 players on the pitch fighting for each other.”

“We can be dangerous in the transition moments. “There were many spaces in the second half but did not explore them that well. We should have scored a second goal.”

“We have to be more [ruthless]. There is room for improvement.”

“I am happy with the clean sheet. The XI on the pitch defend and attack together. You can see what we can achieve.”

The Dutchman also believes there is “room for improvement, but that’s normal [at the] start of the season.”

“Once Casemiro and Ronnie [Cristiano Ronaldo] get fitter and fitter, we will [have] more contributions to give to the team,” he said.

So we need not only a team, but a squad.”

Antony now a Red

Erik ten Hag spoke about Antony addition to his squad to face Arsenal at the weekend.

We have to see. Today he did his first training, individual, and then we have two team sessions and we will see for Sunday.”

Their catastrophic start appears to be behind them, but they will face a tougher test against Arsenal on Sunday.
