Regulations in Italy prevented him from rejoining Inter, and his contract at San Siro had to be canceled, but the ex-Tottenham star is free to return to the Premier League.

“We first considered the potential of Christian joining Brentford when we learned he would be leaving Inter,” said Phil Giles, Brentford’s director of football. It’s wonderful that he’s finally here with us.

Christian’s signing was naturally more time-consuming than other transfers. Many individuals, I’m sure, will have questions about the procedure. We won’t delve into any specifics in order to protect Christian’s medical privacy.

“Brentford supporters can rest comfortably that we’ve done our homework to make sure Christian is in the greatest possible position to return to competitive football.” Now that Christian has decided to join Brentford, all parties involved want to concentrate solely on football.

“We are confident that Christian will have a significant impact from now till the end of the season, there will be an influence at Brentford and in the Premier League.

Eriksen previously played six and a half years at Tottenham Hotspur, appearing in 305 games and scoring 69 goals.

Brentford are currently eight points just above Premier League relegation zone in their first season back in the top flight and will play Everton in the FA Cup 4th round on Saturday before a difficult trip to Manchester City.

Eriksen is unlikely to play in any of those games because, despite obtaining a Covid-19 immunization, he will not arrive in west London for a few others days and will not participate in training this week to comply with UK entry requirements.
