Erling Haaland notched his second hat-trick in as many outings to help surging Manchester City dominate newly promoted Nottingham Forest.

The former Borussia Dortmund marksman’s first half goals has seen the prolific Norwegian striker written his name into the Premier League history.

After Sergio Aguero in the 2018–19 season, the Norwegian became the first player to score back-to-back hat tricks in the Premier League thanks to his performance against Nottingham.

He has now scored nine goals for Manchester City in the English Premier League in just five appearances.

Haaland, who was replaced six minutes before the end of the Palace game, scored an astounding six goals in an hour if the two games are combined.

Joao Cancelo then added a fourth goal when he headed Bernardo Silva’s beautiful pass across the penalty area in.

Julian Alvarez, the strike partner of Haaland, took center stage and made his full Premier League debut, scoring a brace in the 65th and 87th minutes.

There were some, though not many, who thought Haaland would have trouble adjusting to life in the Premier League. They have already shown themselves to be utterly mistaken.

Although it is impossible to predict how this season will turn out at this early point, no one will be suggesting that the Norwegian is a poor fit by the time it is all said and done.

Although his movement might not fit City’s fluid style, his agility, shrewd running, strength, and cool finishing make him a very dangerous menace.

As Haaland moved onto Phil Foden’s curling cross for his opening move, his shirt was being pulled.
He was a part of an amazing one-touch passing play in the second that resulted in a tap-in when the ball became loose after a slide tackle on Foden.

He pushed opponents aside to position himself for John Stones’ nod-back, which would be his third goal of the game.

Last season, Guardiola mentioned bringing in a player with the same sort of goal-sniffing ability as Sergio Aguero.

Aguero joined City from Atletico Madrid in 2011, scoring six goals in his first five matches.

Amazing, nothing more to say,” Haaland said when asked about his performance.
It was about keeping doing what we did in the second half against Palace – play, play, play.
“It has been good so far [at City] so I am not complaining. I try to listen as much as I can to Pep.”

There are amazing footballers here, which you can see as I wouldn’t score as many goals without them. We play so good, we will become even better.

“It is important to keep going. There is going to be a lot of games, we have to enjoy it as much as we can.”

“We have two strikers with incredible quality,” said Pep Guardiola.

Guardiola claims that the two newcomers have the potential to “smell the goal” and although the City head coach had discussed resting Haaland to play Alvarez, this served as a reminder that he could always pair them. It’s a deadly combo that can be.

They are both incredible finishers and in games like today that is so important.”

“Against teams that will defend deep, having the two guys there who have that incredible smell to score goals will help.”

The former Borussia Dortmund star is presently in first place on the scoring lists after scoring nine goals in just five games for Manchester City.
