Ex-Twitter CEO, Dorsey, launches new social media platform ‘Bluesky’

Jack Dorsey, the founder and former CEO of the microblogging website Twitter, has launched a brand-new social media network called “Bluesky.”

This came just a week after Elon Musk, a business tycoon from the United States and the proprietor of Tesla cars, purchased Twitter for $44 billion on April 14, 2022, and completed the transaction on October 27, 2022.

Within just two days of the new app’s release, Dorsey’s Bluesky had amassed over 30,000 users.

According to reports, Bluesky enables designers the ability to design independently from platforms and developers and allows users to choose their own experience by giving them authority over their algorithms.

In other news, notorious, and controversial Nigerian cybercriminal, Hushpuppi, born with his legal name as Ramon Abbas, has been sentenced to 11-year jail sentence for cyber fraud by a US Central District Court in California.

Hushpuppi, who was arrested back in 2020, now has nine more years to serve out his 11-year sentence after serving two of them already from 2020.

On the night his apartment at the Palazzo Versace in United Arab Emirates (UAE) was raided in an operation code-named Fox Hunt 2 in June 2020, Abbas was arrested alongside eleven others over allegations of hacking, impersonation, scamming, banking fraud, and identity theft, and thereafter extradited to the US for prosecution.
