A Texas father is facing serious charges after he allegedly set fire to his own house while his three children were inside, including a 3-year-old toddler.
Pedro Luis Parra Pulgar, 46, is charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of arson following the devastating incident in the Polo Ranch community in Fulshear, a suburb 35 miles west of Houston.
On November 6, 2024, the fire broke out at Parra Pulgar’s home while his children, aged 15 and 3, were trapped inside.
Two of the children, both 15 years old, managed to escape the fire with only minor injuries, but the youngest, a toddler, was still inside and in grave danger.
Responding quickly, Fulshear police entered the home through a bedroom window and rescued the toddler, who was suffering from severe smoke inhalation.
The child was airlifted to a local hospital but has since been released after treatment.

Parra Pulgar also suffered severe burns in the fire, which are visible in his mugshot. After being treated in the hospital, he was arrested and booked into the Fort Bend County Jail on December 12. His bail is set at $2.3 million.
The case has shocked the local community, with many struggling to understand how a father could put his children’s lives at risk.
In addition to the attempted murder and arson charges, Parra Pulgar, a Venezuelan national, is also being held on an immigration detainer by ICE. His next court appearance is scheduled for January 13, 2025.
This case continues to develop, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
