English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has admitted that Fireboy’s hit song, ‘Peru’ is an addictive earworm.
Sheeran, who recently made a remake of the song alongside Fireboy, made this known in an interview session with globally decorated singer and songwriter, Elton John.
“The song is an earworm and it’s addictive. I am obsessed with the song.
“I mean Cherry (his wife) would tell you I’ve had the song on repeat constantly in the house,” he told Elton John.
On how he met Fireboy and the song, he said a friend of his had introduced the song to him and wanted him to listen because Fireboy wanted a remake of the song with him.
“A friend of mine, Jamal, sent Fireboy DML’s song to me. He said he wanted me to listen to it and that Fireboy DML would love me on the remix of the song.
“The song is blowing up in the Nigeria and Ghana club scene at the moment. So, I have done the remix to the song and it’s great.”
Signed on to Olamide’s YBNL records, Fireboy DML released ‘Peru’ as a single to his forthcoming third album on July 21, 2021.
The song has since become one of the hits that reigned supreme in 2021.
