Horsfall, a popular radio presenter and event host, was abducted after leaving his home in Peace Valley Estate, Woji, to attend meetings in the city.

According to the Rivers State Police Command, the suspects, who are members of the Iceland cult group, initially demanded a ransom of N2.5 million from Horsfall’s mother.

In a desperate attempt to save her son, his mother transferred N300,000 into his account, unaware that he had already been killed by the cultists.

The crime began on the night of September 10, when Horsfall informed his mother that he was heading home.

The ransom amount later escalated, and the abductors threatened to kill him if their demands were not met.

Despite the partial payment, the suspects continued to hold Horsfall captive and eventually killed him.

The suspects, identified as Endurance Friday Thompson (the prime suspect), Boma Otonye, David Link Ishaku, Moses Nsikak Benjamin, and Emmanuel Aniete, have all confessed to their involvement in the crime.

The gang members beat Horsfall to death and dumped his body along Abuloma Road in Port Harcourt.

Following the mother’s complaint, police launched an investigation and apprehended Thompson in November 2024.

Efforts to arrest other gang members are ongoing. The police have urged the public, particularly young people, to be cautious of their associations to avoid falling prey to criminal elements.
