A night out at a Florida strip club took a surprising turn for one man, ending in handcuffs instead of pleasure. Sultan Jiza Muedh Alnofaie, a 21-year-old from Miramar, found himself behind bars early Sunday morning after an unusual call to emergency services.
The incident occurred while Alnofaie, who is originally from Saudi Arabia, was partying at the Oz Gentlemen’s Club in Clearwater. Around 1 a.m., he called 911 to report that a club employee refused to have sex with him despite his alleged $300 payment for the act.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Alnofaie told dispatchers that he wanted officers to come and arrest the employee. He claimed that club security had taken $300 from him after the employee failed to deliver the services he paid for.
“He said he gave an employee $300 in exchange for sexual favors, but he did not receive said services,” the affidavit noted. When denied, the intoxicated Alnofaie called 911 and demanded police intervention.
Instead of arresting the staff member, deputies detained Alnofaie. Security at the club stated that the man had leased a private room and explicitly requested sex, which was swiftly denied.
Authorities on the scene stated that Alnofaie was definitely under the influence of alcohol. He was slurring his speech, and deputies detected a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.
His actions resulted in a misdemeanor charge for misuse of the 911 emergency system. Misusing 911 in non-emergency situations is a criminal violation in Florida, and investigators judged that the call did not warrant police action.
After being arrested, Alnofaie was put into jail and eventually freed after paying a $500 bond. He has been appointed a public defender, but a court date has not yet been scheduled.
The Saudi national has not made any public comments, and attempts to contact him for a remark have been futile as of yet.
