A domestic dispute in Miami escalated into a violent confrontation that has left a 41-year-old Florida woman facing serious felony charges, according to court records and police affidavits.
Authorities say Jaqueline Rodriguez was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with great bodily harm following an alleged knife attack on the father of her child. Investigators allege the incident was triggered after Rodriguez learned the man had been having sex with her sister, sparking an argument that turned physical.
The confrontation happened shortly after midnight on April 28, 2025, inside an apartment complex located in the 300 block of NW 177th Street. Police were dispatched after multiple residents reported what they believed were gunshots coming from a first-floor unit. When officers arrived, they observed blood on the apartment’s front door.
After receiving no response to repeated knocks, officers forced entry due to what they described as “exigent” circumstances. Inside, they found blood spread across the floor and encountered a man suffering from multiple scrapes and cuts.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim told officers Rodriguez “used a knife towards him during their physical altercation” and said he was “attacked and this was uncalled for.”
The man identified Rodriguez as his “baby mama” and told officers she became enraged after discovering his alleged relationship with her sister. Investigators say she then pulled out a knife and attacked him.
“Based on the testimony of [the victim], it is believed Ms. Rodriguez tried to cause great bodily harm and permanent disfigurement,” officers wrote in the arrest affidavit.
Although the victim declined to provide a sworn statement, police documented his injuries with photographs. Rodriguez was taken into custody around 1 a.m. Sunday, though records do not clarify why the arrest occurred nearly a year after the alleged stabbing.
In addition to the aggravated battery charge, Rodriguez is also facing burglary and grand theft allegations stemming from a separate incident. Police say she and another man allegedly stole about $14,000 worth of items from a vehicle following a car crash roughly three months before the stabbing.
Rodriguez remains held at Miami-Dade Corrections without bond as the cases move forward.
