A Georgia mother is facing murder charges after allegedly stabbing her 13-month-old daughter to death in an attempt to be with her polygamist husband.

Chloe Alexis Driver, 20, is accused of killing her daughter, Hannah Nicole Driver, on December 8, 2020.

Authorities found the toddler’s body in a bedroom at their Cherokee County home, where she had suffered multiple stab wounds. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Hannah died from her injuries.

Chloe, who was also seriously injured, survived the attack and was arrested after her release from the hospital. She is charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and cruelty to children.

In court this week, prosecutors revealed shocking details about Chloe’s motives.

They claim that Chloe was part of a “polygamist” lifestyle and killed her child to be with her husband, who had two other wives.

According to Chief Assistant District Attorney Katie Gropper, the group Chloe was involved in held “radical views” and practiced “alternative healing,” including drinking their own urine.

Gropper presented a letter allegedly written by Chloe, in which she confessed to the crime, writing, “He didn’t do it. I did it.

I was going insane and no longer wanted to be with his friends but kept coming back for him.” Prosecutors argue that Chloe locked herself and Hannah in a room, stabbed the child, and then inflicted injuries on herself.

The case took another disturbing turn when Chloe’s husband, who is also Hannah’s father, found the scene. He reportedly screamed in horror after discovering his daughter’s body and Chloe’s injuries.

Chloe Driver has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Her trial is ongoing, with many questioning how deeply her polygamist lifestyle may have influenced her tragic actions.
