Ghana Armed Forces Receives Launch Rocket Systems and Vehicles from Chinese Company

In a remarkable act of philanthropy, Chinese corporation MESSRS Poly Technologies Incorporated has significantly bolstered the defense capabilities of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

The generous donation, comprising state-of-the-art Ground Artillery Equipment (GAE), was officially handed over to the Battle Training Camp in Bundase, located in the Greater Accra Region, on December 7, 2023.

Division Director Gu Jia, representing Poly Technologies, spearheaded the donation alongside delegates from B&G African Trading. The groundbreaking equipment includes 122 Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS), a Reconnaissance Vehicle, a Command Vehicle, 7200x122mm rockets, spare parts, and essential accessories.

Expressing gratitude, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Michael Appiah-Agyekum, the Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Administration at the General Headquarters, underscored the invaluable support provided by the companies in strengthening Ghana’s defense system.

He highlighted the ongoing efforts to enhance GAF operationally, emphasizing the crucial role of strategic equipment, platforms, and personnel training.

AVM Appiah-Agyekum stressed the strategic importance of the donation, particularly in light of rising instances of terrorism and trans-organized crime in the sub-region.

The acquired equipment is poised to significantly boost the operational capabilities of the GAF, positioning it to effectively handle any aggressive force.

Brigadier General Barima Brako Owusu, Chief Staff Officer at Army Headquarters, emphasized the need for heightened professionalism among the troops.
