Confirmed: Coronavirus Cases In Ghana Shoots from 7 to 9

Ghana’s Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has announced that the Coronavirus pandemic has risen from seven to nine cases in the country.

The minister who made this announcement on twitter said the cases were confirmed overnight, and that the Health services are still managing all suspected and confirmed cases well.

Unfortunately we have confirmed two more cases overnight. Ghana’s case count is now at 9. Health services are still managing all suspected and confirmed cases well. – he wrote.

On Wednesday 18th March, the health authorities said they received two more confirmed cases from Greater Accra, received from the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR)

According to the reports, the two cases involved a 56-year-old man and the other is 33-year-old. They are both Ghanaians who returned from a foreign trip, making the both imported cases.

56-year-old, returned to Accra a week ago from a trip to the UK, while the 33-year-old returned to Accra from a conference in UAE. Both cases are receiving treatment in isolation.

“Currently, there is no death and all the nine confirmed Covid-19 cases are being managed in isolation and are responding well to treatment,” they added.
