Burna Boy Wins Grammy Awards: Nigerian singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu aka Burna Boy has won the Best Global Music Album category with his “Twice As Tall” album at the 63rd GRAMMY Awards.
This win is a big win for Nigeria, and the entire African continent not to forget the fans of the multiple award-winning singer since this is his first Grammy win.
Burna Boy back in 2019, was nominated in the same category Best Global Music Album which was formerly called ‘Best World Music Album’ with his African Giant Album, which was his first Grammy nominee but lost it to Angelique Kidjo during the awards ceremony in 2020.
The Twice As Tall album features a wide range of international artists such as Stormzy, Youssou Ndour, Naughty By Nature, and Chris Martin of Coldplay, and had Sean Combs as executive producer.
Burna Boy’s album competed with “Fu Chronicles” by Antibalas, “Agora” by Bebel Gilberto, Anoushka Shankar’s “Love Letters”, and then “Amadjar” by Tinariwen in the 63rd annual Grammy Awards.

The Grammys described Twice As Tall as “a masterclass in the vibe and hustle that have made Burna Boy an international musical force”.
“[He] continues to torch limitations, seamlessly blending styles and genres and fearlessly fuelling the fire heating the melting pot of pop, Afrobeat, dancehall, reggae and more,” it said.
