Elon Musk’s ex-girlfriend, Grimes, has made explosive claims about the ongoing custody battle over their children, alleging that Musk is blocking her access to their kids and that he has become “unrecognizable” since aligning with the MAGA movement.
Grimes, whose real name is Clare Boucher, shared her frustrations in a social media post, revealing that she has been embroiled in a year-long custody dispute with the billionaire.
She claims that, at one point, she was unable to see their child for five months.
The couple, who broke up in 2022, share three children together: two sons, X Æ A-Xii and Techno Mechanicus, and a daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl.
Grimes expressed confusion and concern over Musk’s political shift, stating that his alliance with Donald Trump has led to a drastic change in his personality and actions.
She described feeling trapped in the legal battle in Texas, a state she said offers “terrible mothers’ rights,” and explained how her Instagram posts and modeling work were being used against her in the fight for custody.
“I spent a year locked in battle,” she wrote, “fighting for my kids, detaching from the love of my life as he became unrecognizable to me.”

The custody conflict between Grimes and Musk has been further complicated by Musk’s estranged relationship with his transgender daughter, Vivian Jenna, from his first marriage.
Grimes voiced support for Vivian and distanced herself from Musk’s controversial anti-trans remarks, claiming they were not truly reflective of his beliefs.
According to reports, Musk had sued for full custody of the children in Texas, but Grimes responded with a counter-suit in California.
She has also claimed that Musk withheld the children from her and even kept them from seeing their terminally ill maternal grandmother.
Despite the legal tensions, it’s reported that the custody dispute has been settled, though no details have been made public.
Grimes, meanwhile, opened up about the emotional toll the battle took on her, revealing that she was left “bankrupt” and unable to focus on her music career.

In a plea for help, Grimes reached out to Shivon Zilis, another of Musk’s partners and the mother of his twins, asking for assistance in reaching Musk.
Musk, who has 12 children from three different women, has faced ongoing media attention over his personal life and large family.
While Grimes appears to be struggling with the aftermath of their separation, Musk continues to dominate both the tech and political scenes.
