Cope radio reported the harrowing details of the incident.
The Civil Guard has dispatched officers to Correa’s home to assist with the investigation, searching for any clues, including fingerprints.
This unnerving event adds Correa to the growing list of football players in Spain who have fallen victim to robbery or burglary in recent years.
Notable names like former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema and Atletico’s Alvaro Morata have also faced similar situations.
In October 2019, Spanish police and Europol announced the dismantling of a burglary ring that specifically targeted Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid footballers.
The football community and fans alike are left shaken by this distressing incident, raising concerns about the safety and security of athletes in their own homes.
The authorities are intensifying efforts to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice and to prevent such incidents in the future.
