Janice Small Combs has publicly defended her son, Sean Combs, amidst ongoing legal troubles, asserting that the truth surrounding his situation has been obscured by lies and misconceptions.
In a recent statement, she referenced instances where her son may not have been entirely truthful, particularly regarding a past incident involving an ex-girlfriend that was captured on hotel surveillance.
“Sometimes, the truth and a lie become so closely intertwined that it becomes terrifying to admit one part of the story, especially when that truth is outside the norm or is too complicated to be believed,” she explained.

She suggested that her son’s legal team chose to settle a lawsuit filed by the ex-girlfriend rather than contest it, which she believes the federal government interpreted as an admission of guilt.
Sean Combs has previously acknowledged the incident shown in the footage, stating, “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.
I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now.”
Janice continued to express her anguish over the public’s swift judgement, claiming it is painful to witness the world turn against her son without hearing his side of the story.
She alleged that some of his accusers may be motivated by financial gain, asserting, “It is truly agonizing to watch the world turn against my son so quickly and easily over lies and misconceptions.”
Sean Combs is set to appear in court on October 9, where his legal team will argue for his release on bail.
He was previously denied bail after prosecutors deemed him a significant risk to the upcoming trial, alleging that he attempted to obstruct the investigation by contacting victims and witnesses with misleading narratives.
