After nearly three decades together, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness are facing a complex and contentious divorce, sources reveal.
Despite publicly announcing their separation in September 2023, the couple has yet to file for divorce, with the lack of a prenup proving to be a major obstacle.
According to insiders, Jackman and Furness are struggling to divide their significant fortune, estimated at around $250 million.
The couple, who were married in 1996, are now caught in a bitter dispute, complicated by Jackman’s skyrocketing career and newfound relationship with Broadway co-star Sutton Foster.

Although the two initially planned to file for divorce before Christmas, their separation was delayed by the holidays and Jackman’s Broadway commitments. Now, insiders confirm that the pair is planning to officially file in New York soon, with tensions running high.
One of the major hurdles is the absence of a prenuptial agreement. The pair married when Jackman’s career was just beginning, and neither could have predicted his rise to superstardom as Wolverine in the X-Men franchise and beyond.

As a result, the financial stakes of their divorce are substantial, and the process is expected to be anything but simple.
Though both Jackman and Furness want to make the divorce process as amicable as possible, the reality of dividing their wealth and assets—built over nearly three decades—has led to tensions.
“It may even get messy because the stakes are high,” said one insider. The pair’s once-close friendship has also deteriorated, though they remain dedicated to co-parenting their two children, Oscar and Ava.
Furness, now 69, and Jackman, 56, met in 1995 on the Australian TV show Correlli, and were married shortly thereafter.
Their 27-year marriage saw Jackman’s career reach extraordinary heights, with roles in Les Misérables, The Prestige, and The Greatest Showman, along with a massive property portfolio.
