Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has addressed the topic of death and whether he harbors fear given the nature of his job.

One question that Anas was asked directly at the Disrupt Lab event in Germany was, “Are you afraid to die?” In response, he said that his unwavering conviction and Muslim faith give him a grounded perspective on the subject of death.

Fear is something I have long since overcome. As a Muslim, I firmly believe that death is Allah’s will and that once you pass away, you are forever lost.

If there’s one thing I detest, it’s that I want to avoid dying a coward. He emphasised, “I want to die fighting for what’s right in society.

Anas Aremeyaw Because of the nature of his work, Anas, who is renowned for his powerful investigative journalism, has regularly faced threats to his life and the safety of those close to him. Regretfully, his team at Tiger Eye PI still hasn’t gotten conclusive answers about the 2019 shooting death of one of their main investigators, Ahmed Hussein Suale.

This tragic incident happened several months after the publication of Anas’ investigative film “Number 13,” which exposed corruption in local, national, and international football politics.

He recently hinted at the intriguing documentary’s January 2024 release, though the topic is still unknown. The second installment of a documentary about galamsey, or illegal small-scale mining, was the most recent release prior to this announcement.
