The board chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO), Rex Omar whose real name is Rex Owusu Marfo, has listed all of his duties.
To that effect, he stated:
“I’m the board Chairman and not even part of the management, so I don’t get up every day to drive and go sit at GHAMRO to work because my role is to lead in policy formation.
“To ensure that the administration will implement the policies so as to be able to grow the organization so I don’t go there every day because I have my own businesses that I run so people must understand that,” he pointed out.
He said in a radio interview with Kastle FM that: “Kojo Antwi came to do a little and left and other people also came to continue so certainly I can’t do it all so when I go to a certain degree I will also leave it some time and look for someone to continue.”
The “Obi Do Ba” hitmaker remarked during an interview with Amansan Krakye on the Kastle Entertainment Show that people who assume he solely works at GHAMRO to rip off musicians’ monry should be aware of better options.
“So that’s what it is, so those who think that Rex Omar has nothing better doing and so his only interest is to sit at GHAMRO and be chopping musicians’ money should know better,” he concluded.
