I never accused Nana Acheampong of stealing my song, Patapaa clarifies

The well-known hiplife artist Justice Amoa, also known as Patapaa, from Swedru has denied claims that he copied his song from Highlife icon Nana Acheampong.

The song “Woye Nyame” by Nana Acheampong is now available. Hiplife artist Fameye is featured on the inspiring gospel song crooned in the style of highlife.

There were rumours going around that Patapaa claimed the highlife icon had stolen the tune from him.

However, Patapaa denied the accusation in a statement to GhanaWeekend. “I rather made my version because the song is very nice,” he said. The legendary Nana AcheampongHe’s going to take my song, why? Since I enjoy the song, I remixed it to honour the renowned musician’s return.

At the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Patapaa is most recognised for his 2017 breakthrough single “One Corner,” which was nominated for both Song of the Year and Most Popular Song of the Year.

At the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, “One Corner” was also a nominee for Song of the Year.

One of Ghana’s best producers, Guiltybeatz, which includes Mr. Eazi and Pappy Kojo, featured him on the 2018 African worldwide smash song Akwaaba.
