News reaching Townflex suggests that Israel has launched a ground invasion into Lebanon by deploying tanks as well as troops over the border for a highly anticipated conflict with Hezbollah.

The offensive, which began last night, marks a very significant escalation in the tension between Israel and the militant group that has been going on for some while now.

In effect, heavy artillery strikes were reported sighted as Israeli aimed to force targeted Hezbollah strongholds near the border.

To that effect, the U.S. State Department later confirmed that Israel had informed its American allies of “limited operations focused on Hezbollah infrastructure near the border.”

Despite this, Hezbollah claimed to have repelled Israeli advances in several areas, including orchards in the villages of Adaisseh and Kafr Kela, along the southern frontier.

Also, further clashes were reported around the southern Lebanese communities of Blida and Ainata.

Overnight airstrikes also targeted the Ruwais neighborhood in Beirut, as well as the southern port city of Sidon, where rescue teams responded to the destruction.

Currently, the situation remains volatile, with fears that the conflict could escalate further in the coming days.

As it stands, both sides are deeply entrenched, and the international community is closely monitoring the developments as the battle between Israel and Hezbollah intensifies.
