In a devastating 48-hour period, Israeli airstrikes on Gaza have resulted in the deaths of at least 150 people.
The bombing, which took place on Thursday and Friday, December 3, marks another tragic chapter in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
This escalation of violence occurs while diplomatic talks continue, with Israel seeking a ceasefire and the release of hostages held by Hamas.
Senior Hamas official Basem Naim expressed the group’s commitment to a potential ceasefire deal, which includes the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and the return of displaced residents to their homes.
Meanwhile, the destruction of Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure has reached catastrophic levels.
Physicians for Human Rights Israel (PHRI) warned that the health system in northern Gaza could collapse entirely if two remaining operational medical centers, Indonesian Hospital and al-Awda Hospital, are forced to close.
These hospitals are crucial to providing care to the thousands of people injured by the ongoing bombings.

PHRI condemned Israel’s actions as a violation of international law, stating that the relentless destruction of civilian infrastructure and the forced displacement of Palestinians amounts to ethnic cleansing.
The UN’s human rights chief, Volker Turk, reported that at least 136 Israeli attacks have targeted health facilities, contributing to widespread death and destruction.
Amnesty International also raised alarms over the detention of Dr. Hussam Abu Safia, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital.
The human rights group claims this arrest represents Israel’s broader attempt to eliminate Gaza’s healthcare sector, a tactic that they describe as genocidal.
Since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023, more than 45,000 Palestinians have lost their lives, and over 108,000 have been injured.
