Great White Lead Vocalist Jack Russell Dies Aged 63

American rock vocalist and the lead singer of the bluesy ‘80s metal band Great White, Jack Russell has died.

Born with his legal name Jack Patrick Russell, the late singer’s death was announced on his Instagram page on Thursday, Aug. 15. And according to the statement released, Jack passed away peacefully in the presence of his family and loved ones.

“With tremendous sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved Jack Patrick Russell — father, husband, cousin, uncle and friend,” the statement read. “Jack passed peacefully in the presence of his wife Heather Ann Russell, son Matthew Hucko, cousin Naomi Breshears Barbor, and dear friends Billy and Cheryl Pawelcik.”

“Jack is loved and remembered for his sense of humor, exceptional zest for life, and unshakeable contribution to rock rock and roll where his legacy will forever thrive,” the statement read.

Details in regard to his burial will be announced in due time, meanwhile, the family has asked for privacy.

Russell’s death comes soon after he shared a statement a few weeks ago in July regarding his struggles with Lewy body dementia and multiple system atrophy.

“I am unable to perform at the level I desire and at the level you deserve, words cannot express my gratitude for the many years of memories, love and support. Thank you for letting me live my dreams. You have made my life a wonder.” Russell wrote on Instagram on July 17.

Information about his Cause of death still remains unknown at the moment but as stated above, he complained he had struggles with Lewy body dementia and multiple system atrophy.
