After Marky Delgado set him up, Dejan Joveljic gave Greg Vanney’s team the lead in the 75th minute.

But Messi’s late goal sealed a tie for Inter Miami, as LA Galaxy were unable to maintain their lead.

In response to his MLS debut, Paintsil praised the audience for their support and stated he was looking forward to more unforgettable occasions.

Last Thursday, LA Galaxy finalised the acquisition of the Ghanaian winger from KRC Genk, a Belgian team.

The 26-year-old won the league and super cup during his successful six-year tenure in the Belgian top division after joining Genk in 2018.

In the 228 games that Paintsil played for Genk, he also amazingly scored 61 goals and contributed 35 assists, with nine goals and five assists in the current 2023–24 campaign.

He signs a four-year contract with LA Galaxy with the goal of following in the footsteps of Ghanaian football players Yaw Yeboah, Harrison Afful, Latif Blessing, and Jonathan Mensah in becoming the most well-known player in the United States.
