Julian Nagelsmann to replace Potter as Chelsea’s next manager

On Sunday evening, the departure of Graham Potter from Chelsea was confirmed after his team’s loss to Aston Villa the previous day

The 47-year-old had left Brighton and Hove Albion to replace Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge, and had a good start to his tenure, going unbeaten in his first nine games. However, the loss to Aston Villa proved to be the final straw for co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, who decided to sack him.

Chelsea are now looking for a new manager, with Julian Nagelsmann being their primary target according to Townflex Sport.

Nagelsmann was recently sacked by Bayern Munich and replaced by Tuchel, making him a top candidate to replace Potter at Stamford Bridge. Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali to appoint a new Chelsea boss soon

Other potential candidates include Luis Enrique and Mauricio Pochettino.

Given the important upcoming matches against Liverpool and Real Madrid, it is likely that Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali will want to quickly appoint a new manager to replace Graham Potter.

Bruno Saltor will temporarily lead the team, but Chelsea intends to have a permanent manager before the end of the season.

Tottenham was also interested in Julian Nagelsmann, but with Cristian Stelling currently serving as the interim coach, no decision has been made yet.

However, since reports emerged that Nagelsmann was highly regarded by Chelsea while Potter was in charge, he is now the primary target.

Despite his desire for a break from management, Nagelsmann’s departure from Bayern Munich was a surprise.

According to Bild, any club wanting to appoint Nagelsmann before the end of the season would have to pay a fee to Bayern, but Chelsea is still keen on him.
