South African politician Julius Malema, leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has fired back at billionaire Elon Musk after Musk labeled him an “international criminal” in a heated social media exchange.
The controversial comments have sparked a fierce backlash, with the EFF rallying behind their leader.
The incident began when Musk shared a tweet by X user Mario Nawfal, which included a video of Malema making a fiery statement: “We will cut the throat of whiteness,” a remark that quickly gained widespread attention online.
The video also featured Andile Mngxitama, the former president of Black Land First (BLF), known for his controversial and violent rhetoric against white people.
In response, Musk took to his own X account, urging for “immediate sanctions” against Malema and calling for him to be declared an “international criminal.”
Musk’s comments, which quickly spread across the platform, intensified the ongoing tensions between the two public figures.

Malema, known for his outspoken views on racial inequality, didn’t take kindly to Musk’s remarks.
The EFF leader responded defiantly, calling Musk a “typical spoiled brat” and accusing him of being a “direct beneficiary of Apartheid whiteness.”
Malema also criticized Musk for allegedly racially profiling him, stating, “I know black people look the same to you, typical racist. Look closer, and you will realize those are two different people.”
In a defiant message, Malema continued, “America is exposing us to its stupidity. I don’t care about your sanctions; I will never stop fighting for black people to be equal to white people, and if that makes me an international criminal, I am proud to be one.”
The exchange highlights the deepening divide over racial and political tensions, with both figures standing firm on their respective views.
The controversy has intensified debates around freedom of speech, racial justice, and the role of public figures in promoting or challenging these issues.
