Kanye West sued for harassment by former assistant

A woman who worked as Kanye West’s assistant for two years is suing him for $exual harassment, breach of contract, and wrongful termination.

According to US media, Lauren Pisciotta claims in a complaint that the celebrity texted her pornographically and engaged in sexual acts with her over the phone. She says she was let go in 2022, but she never received the $3 million (£2.4 million) severance pay.

West’s attorney has been contacted by the BBC on her claims, but no answer has been received as of yet. Rolling Stone, The Wrap, and US Weekly all confirmed the case after it was initially reported by TMZ in the US.

According to US Weekly, court documents were filed on Monday. The BBC has not been able to confirm the filing as of yet.

The documents state that in 2021, when Pisciotta first met West, she was mostly sustaining herself through her OnlyFans page. She claims that when he hired her to work on the first season of his women’s fashion line, Yeezy, Pisciotta, and he collaborated on three tracks from his album Donda (though Pisciotta is not officially credited on the record).

Pisciotta was later employed by West as his assistant, receiving a $1 million (£780,000) yearly pay with the stipulation that she be accessible “24/7.” She claims that she accepted the terms.

In her case, she claims that at first, West was cool with her carrying on with her OnlyFans company. But in 2022, he supposedly said that he desired Pisciotta to be “God-like” and that he would pay her an additional $1 million if she deleted her account.

She says that after she deleted the account, West started sending her a tonne of obscene texts, some of which included videos.

In addition, Pisciotta says he once “trapped” her in a private area on his flight and then pleural pleasure in front of her during their phone conversation. She was elevated to Chief of Staff for his several enterprises in September 2022, according to her lawsuit, but she was fired without warning.

It is stated that her severance payment was never made. Apart from s3xual harassment, contract violations, and unjust dismissal, Pisciotta is suing West and his Yeezy companies for unpaid wages, fraud, and purposeful emotional anguish infliction.

The artist has already faced accusations of inappropriate behaviour. A number of his Yeezy fashion label staff members said to Rolling Stone in November that he had shown a private photo of his ex-wife Kim Kardashian in job applications and had shown pornographic flicks during staff meetings.

West has been silent about the accusations ever since, failing to address them at the time. The celebrity has previously spoken of a “full-on addiction to pornography” that “destroyed my family.” He previously said to Zane Lowe of Apple Music that it had been a big part of his life since he was a little child.

He claimed that Playboy served as his entryway into a serious pornographic addiction. “At age five, my dad had a Playboy left out, and it influenced nearly every decision I made for the rest of my life.

This year, the celebrity has already been sued twice. In April, a former security guard at the Donda Academy, his now-closed school, accused him of racial discrimination and harassment.

Benjamin Deshon Provo said he was told to shave his dreadlocks or risk being fired, citing discrimination against him due to his Muslim faith. West has not yet addressed the accusations.

The singer was also sued in February by Donna Summer’s heirs for unauthorised use of a sample of her song “I Feel Love.” Later on, the matter was resolved out of court.

The performer, who achieved multi-platinum success with songs including Gold Digger, Stronger, and All Of The Lights, was among the most popular and successful rappers of the 2000s and 2010s.

Nevertheless, issues have plagued his career recently. Most famously, West’s lucrative deal with Adidas was cancelled in November 2022 because to remarks he made on social media that were deemed antisemitic. Nevertheless, earlier this year, the artist made a comeback to the top of the US charts with the hit track Carnival and its parent album Vultures.
