KiDi’s time of doing free features are over as he says henceforth he will have to charge a fee whenever he is being called upon.
This switch in the Odo hitmaker’s idea was served to the public notice while speaking in a Twitter Space with Ghana Weekend’s Olele Salvador.
He attributed the reason why he came up with the decision to move from free features to go paid to the current economic hardship in the country Ghana.
KiDi who has featured on songs by top artistes in the country including the likes of Stonebwoy, Kuami Eugene, Kwesi Arthur, Cina Soul among others said all artistes he has featured on their songs could be asked he ever asked for money as payment for his verse or no, but even though he does it for no fee, he still do own right to the revenue garnered from streams the songs get from streaming and distribution platforms as stated by Copyright laws.
“You can ask all artists who have featured me on their songs. I’ve never charged or taken a dime from them. I didn’t say I will not charge for features oo. ”
He added; “I have never done that before but right now looking at how the economy is going, ‘asesa’.”
