Liverpool has already suffered more defeats this season than they did throughout the entire 2021–2022 campaign with three league losses under their belt.

The Reds boss who admitted he was at his lowest point saw his team had several opportunities throughout the course of the game but Forest came out on top with 3 points.

The visitors had the game’s first opportunity after nine minutesof the game.

Fabio Carvalho superbly stopped Elliott’s flawless crossfield flick inside the box, and his subsequent touch forced Dean Henderson into a save.

The Reds had three half-chances midway through the first half but Henderson and the Forest goal were unfazed by Salah (twice) and Carvalho.

Early in the second period, Liverpool made a chance with a free-kick routine, but it was stopped when Carvalho curled over from inside the box.

The Reds almost reacted right away but the Forest goalkeeper deflected Elliott’s strong shot behind for a corner after Milner’s through ball.

Alexander Arnold’s forceful header from a Robertson cross into the box was blocked by Dean Henderson in the dying moments of the match, keeping Liverpool from tying the score.

Jurgen Klopp was asked how he was feeling, he told BT Sport:

“As low as possible. Massive, massive blow because I have no idea how we can lose this game to be honest. Not that we played exceptionally well, not that I expect that but it would have been nice.”

Jurgen Klopp on his change of team:

“With all the changes we had to make and with the intense week behind us it was clear we had to make a fight of it. The boys did that. The chances they had were pretty much counter attacks where we gave the ball too easily away. We were dangerous and a real threat and the set pieces were 100 per cent chances pretty much.”

Jurgen Klopp on chances:

“That we didn’t finish one of these off is the main blow if you want because we cannot put them in better, you cannot move better and if you have one player completely free in the box that is the

Klopp on whether Henderson can start again:

I was concerned from the medical department not too long so we changed like this. It was clear we had to get used to it. We didn’t hit the target and the goalie made a sensational save but that’s it now and we cannot change it.”

Liverpool boss was full of praise for his former striker Awoniyi after the game.

The Liverpool boss told BBC when asked about Awoniyi:

“He’s had a sensational development. He has arrived where he belongs and I am happy for him, but not today so much.”

“Awoniyi is a real handful in the Forest attack and yesterday he gave Joe Gomez a torrid time.

Now, the young striker simply needs to keep grasping his opportunities to shine when they do come along.”
