The ownership of the lyrics to the song ‘No Dulling‘ by Ghanaian music duo Keche, which featured Lynx Entertainment singer, Kuami Eugene, has been the subject of much debate.
The song, which was released in August 2020, became an instant hit and was loved by fans of Ghanaian music worldwide.
However, a few months after the song’s release, issues began to arise between the parties involved. Many fans credited the success of the song to Kuami Eugene, ignoring Keche, which did not sit well with the music duo.
Responding to Kuami Eugene’s claim that he had written the lyrics for them, Keche made it clear that they had written all their songs since they started their professional career in music, and Andrew, one of the members of the group, wrote “No Dulling” but not Kuami.
In a subsequent interview, Keche questioned whether Kuami Eugene was even a rapper and stated that nobody had ever written a song for them.
“Andrew wrote it. Nobody has ever written a song for Keche. No Dulling is a Keche song. Kuami Eugene went and sat somewhere and said he wrote the song for us. Kuami Eugene is he a rapper?” according to Keche.

Kuami Eugene, however, appeared on the Delay Show and claimed that he had indeed written the entire song. He noted that Keche had come to his studio to record their verse and that he had not charged them anything for the feature.
Kuami Eugene went on to explain that collaborating with other artists was common in the Western world and did not mean that the artist lacked talent.
He added that he had written songs for other artists in the past and was willing to do so for Keche again, despite their recent feud.
Despite the dispute, the song remains a favorite among fans of Ghanaian music, and both Kuami Eugene and Keche continue to produce new music.
The dispute over the ownership of the lyrics to ‘No Dulling’ is a reminder that collaboration in the music industry can sometimes lead to misunderstandings and disagreements.
