Lionel Messi’s last summer transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain has not exactly gone to plan for the Argentine superstar.

The seven time Ballon d’Or winner could also join Neymar Jr. out of the door. However, the Brazilian might not be exiting alone.

The 34 year old only found the net just six times in 27 domestic appearances for PSG , the Argentine was also unable to prevent PSG’s Champions League round-of-16 exit against Real Madrid.

Messi and his teammate Neymar Jr. were booed and humiliated by PSG supporters during a 3-0 home win over Ligue 1 side Bordeaux.

Paris Saint-Germain’s new sporting management which includes Luis Campos and Antero Henrique wants to clean house by selling Neymar and Messi this summer according to Spanish journalist Pedro Morata.

Messi Neymar and Mbappe
Kylian Mbappe will become the new face of PSG’s rebuild after the exits of former Barcelona stars.

Apparently, the idea is to build a new side with fewer star players and a more competitive team, which has begun with the arrival Vitinha from Fc Porto, with Kylian Mbappe being the face of the rebuild.

The 23 year old signed a new lucrative contract with the Parisians in May that repelled strong interest from Real Madrid.

Pedro Morata states that there are issues with possibly moving on from the two players is, first, their contracts; not many clubs can afford the wages that they’re currently commanding.

As a result, there’s not a big market for them, but the Spanish journalist does add that both players would want to leave.

Neymar has been strongly linked with a move to Premier League giants Chelsea and Man United.

Sky Sports reported months ago that the seven time Ballon d’Or winner will remain at the club for at least another year.

Former Barcelona star could seek a new transfer, possibly back home to Argentina with boyhood club Newell’s Old Boys.

However, not everything that the Spanish media claims about PSG might be credible, so it’s best to take matters like this with a grain of salt unless there’s a solid lead.
