Released on Friday, February 28, 2025, the Alter Ego album by Lisa marks her first solo release since departing from YG Entertainment and Interscope Records in 2023.
A few months ago, for an interview with Billboard, the Thai artist explained the reasons that had made her start this new solo adventure: “In Blackpink, I am a rapper, so I always rap, but now I have the opportunity to show the world that I am capable of much more.”
The album comprises 15 songs and features collaborations with prominent artists such as Rosalía, Doja Cat, Raye, Future, Megan Thee Stallion, and Tyla, blending genres like disco, hip-hop, soul, and trap.
It is supported by notable tracks including “Rockstar,” “New Woman” featuring Rosalía, “Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me),” and “Born Again” featuring Doja Cat and Raye.
Critics have praised Lisa’s confident artistry and genre-blending approach, though some note that the polished production offers limited insight into her personal identity. “Alter Ego” is available for streaming on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, and physical copies can be purchased through retailers such as Target.
