Luigi Mangione, 26, pleaded not guilty to murder charges in connection with the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
The arraignment took place on Monday, December 23, before Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Gregory Carro.
Mangione appeared in court handcuffed and shackled, wearing a burgundy sweater over a white-collared shirt, escorted by multiple officers.
Last week, Manhattan prosecutors unsealed an 11-count indictment against Mangione, accusing him of first-degree murder, an act of terrorism, criminal possession of a weapon, and forgery for using a fake ID in the days leading up to the tragic shooting.
The charges stem from the death of Thompson, who was shot and killed on December 4 outside a hotel in midtown Manhattan, where he had been attending a UnitedHealthcare investor conference.
During the brief hearing, Mangione, accompanied by his defense attorney Karen Agnifilo and prison consultant Craig Rothfeld, pleaded not guilty to all charges.
If convicted, he faces the possibility of life in prison without the chance of parole.

Prosecutors are continuing their investigation, and more details about the circumstances of the shooting are expected to emerge as the case progresses.
Thompson, a prominent figure in the health insurance industry, was known for his leadership at UnitedHealthcare, a division of UnitedHealth Group.
His shocking death has raised questions about potential motives, but authorities have yet to confirm any specifics regarding the nature of Mangione’s connection to Thompson.
As the case moves forward, Mangione will remain in custody, and his next court appearance is scheduled for early next year.
