Man United turn attention to Casemiro after De Jong Saga

Frenkie de Jong and Adrien Rabiot deals currently seem doubtful, therefore Manchester United is in a rush to get a midfielder before the transfer window closes.

Despite Erik ten Hag’s call for a revolution, the Red Devils had a stuttering summer transfer window, signing just three players. For a total of about £60 million, Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen, and Tyrell Malacia have joined.

Frenkie de Jong was Ten Hag’s first priority, but now that it seems the Dutchman is eluding them, he has turned his attention to Casemiro of Real Madrid.

According to a report today on MARCA, Manchester United is prepared to make the Brazilian midfielder a five-year contract that will more than double his pay at Real Madrid.

According to that same report, Casemiro is keeping his options open and would take into account that offer if United and Madrid were to come to an agreement.

Real Madrid will obviously let Casemiro go if he informs the team that he actually wants to leave. At first, Madrid was unwilling to go with Casemiro for the €60 million that United appear willing to pay, but if United ups their offer, or if Casemiro decides he wants to leave, Madrid might reconsider.

The Brazilian midfielder is not even considering a transfer away from the Bernabeu, according to reports from COPE. He has no plans to leave Real Madrid, they claim.

The veteran’s weekly salary would increase to €430,000 if the Red Devils doubled it. However, he was unable to modify his decision despite the economic pressure.

When you consider how poorly Manchester United has been run and performed this year, this is hardly shocking. Furthermore, under Carlo Ancelotti, Casemiro is still a consistent starter, thus he has no need to consider leaving the team.

As things stand now, Casemiro is the one who must make up his mind regarding where he wants to play, and Real Madrid does not anticipate receiving a greater offer than those €60 million.

The Brazilian midfielder’s agreement from last year keeps Real Madrid in charge until the summer of 2025, barring a blatant declaration by Casemiro that he wants to quit the team.
