The announcement came through fellow youngster Gabriel, who announced he had also signed on his Instagram.

He said: “Delighted to finally have my signing day done even better to have mine with team-mates @cristiano JR.”

Gabriel is already signed by Nike and has a large Instagram following for his age.

Cristiano Ronaldo jr signing to play for the club joins the kids of Manchester legends in the likes of Wayne Rooney, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Robin van Persie, Nemanja Matic and Robbie Savage who all have their kids signed to teams.

Ronaldo is yet to comment on his son’s new contract at Old Trafford and the youngster doesn’t have his own social media account.

Ronaldo some time back revealed in a Netflix docuseries about his partner Georgina, that although his son, jr has a bright prospect and has already started to enjoy a successful career, he will never apply any pressure on him to follow his footsteps.

‘Only time will tell. I will never pressure him. He will do what he wants.

‘Also what I want the most for Cristianito and everyone else is that they’re happy and that they choose what they want. I will support in any way.’

“I always tell him that it takes work and dedication to have success. I won’t pressure him to become a footballer, but if you ask me if I want him to, yes I would like it.

“The most important thing is to become the best at whatever he does, whether it is as a footballer or a doctor.”
