Manchester United have confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo will wear the iconic No.7 shirt in his second spell at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese striker completed his return to Old Trafford from the Italian giants Juventus on transfer deadline day.

The Portuguese superstar famously wore the legendary shirt and made the No.7 his own after taking over from David Beckham during his first spell at United.

Cristiano Ronaldo made 292 appearances and scored 118 goals during his first spell at United between 2003 and 2009, winning nine trophies including three Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.

The No. 7 shirt is a special number in the history of the club.The Portuguese striker will again wear the no. 7 for United.

Cristiano Ronaldo took the number from Edinson Cavani, who wore the shirt last season and in their away win at Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.

El Matador will now switch to no.21, the same number he wears for the Uruguayan national team.
