Manchester United is prepared to sell players including Anthony Martial

In order to fund the acquisition of a new long-term striker, Manchester United hopes to offload Anthony Martial this summer.

The French striker who has only scored six goals this season is among the players United have listed to sell at the end of the season.

Harry Maguire, the United captain, and fullback Alex Telles are two other players whose services will be made available for purchase.

Prior to his most recent injury setback last week, Man United determined that Martial was sellable.

After a two-and-a-half-week absence, Martial scored as a substitute in the League Cup semifinal victory over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.

However, three days later, he opted not to travel with the team for the Premier League game against Crystal Palace.

The 27-year-old Martial has missed a total of 16 weeks through five separate injury layoffs and 20 of United’s 34 games this season.

The upcoming summer transfer window is an ideal moment to attempt and recoup Martial’s value because the Frenchman is under contract to United until 2024 and has the option of another year.

A new goalscorer is a priority for United boss Erik ten Hag in the summer, and the club is interested in both Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur.

Goncalo Ramos of Benfica and Mohammed Kudus, who Ten Hag collaborated with at Ajax, are also favorites of Ten Hag.

Martial joined United for a fee that increased to £58 million on transfer deadline day in September 2015, but he has only once broken the 20-goal mark in a season.

He was loaned to Sevilla in January 2022, but Martial only scored one goal in La Liga.

Martial has scored six goals this season, but he hasn’t played the whole ninety minutes.
