Manchester vs Brighton match postponed due to COVID-19 [Details]

English-based football club, Manchester United, has released an update regarding their match with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Manchester United was supposed to play with Brighton & Hove Albion in their Premier League fixture scheduled for Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 12:30 GMT, but has been cancelled and postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The premier league club in a post on their official website on Thursday afternoon, December 16, revealed the reason the match getting canceled.

According to the club, they have q number of players and support staffs who are currently in isolation due to COVID-19, and that they had no other option than to request that the match be postponed since the health of the players and staff is their priority.

They also added that the Premier League Board after their request took a decision by granting them their request to cancel and rearrange the match.

The Club has also announced that they are also suspending all football training at the Carrington Training Complex for a short period to help reduce risk of further transmission.

“The health of players and staff is our priority. Given the number of players and support staff having to isolate due to COVID-19, the club had no option other than to request the match be rearranged. The Premier League Board took the decision to postpone based on guidance from medical advisors.

“We will also suspend football training operations at the Carrington Training Complex for a short period to help reduce risk of further transmission.

“We regret any disappointment and inconvenience caused to fans by the postponement.”
