England striker Marcus Rashford has officially completed his loan move to Aston Villa, marking his departure from Manchester United after a challenging period under manager Ruben Amorim.
The 27-year-old forward underwent his medical on Sunday evening and sealed the deal, which will see him join Villa Park until the end of the season.
The transfer was confirmed by Villa, who announced on their website: “Aston Villa is delighted to announce the loan signing of Marcus Rashford from Manchester United.
The England international, capped 60 times by the Three Lions, joins Villa on a deal until the end of the season. Welcome, Marcus!”
Rashford took to Instagram to express his excitement and gratitude. “I would like to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for making this loan deal happen.
I was lucky to have a few clubs approach me, but Aston Villa was an easy decision.
I really admire the way that Aston Villa have been playing this season, and the manager’s ambitions. I just want to play football and am excited to get started.”
He continued, “I wish everyone at Manchester United all the best for the rest of the season.”

Manchester United also acknowledged his departure, writing on their website: “Everyone at Manchester United wishes Marcus good luck for the rest of the season.”
The deal includes a loan agreement that lasts until the end of the season but also gives Villa the option to make the move permanent for a pre-agreed fee of £40 million.
