English professional footballer, Mason Will John Greenwood who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United has ben released on bail.

The 20-year-old Mason Greenwood was picked up on Sunday, January 30th, 2022 by Greater Manchester Police on suspicion of rape and assault of a woman.

Mason Greenwood released on bail: the announcement of him being released from law enforcement custody was made known via a statement released by the Greater Manchester Police on Wednesday morning, February 2, 2o22.

Even though Manson has been released, the case is still active and pending further investigation.

The statement reads below;

“A 20-year-old man arrested (on Sunday 30 January 2022) on suspicion of the rape and assault of a woman has been released on bail pending further investigation.”

Manchester United ealier on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, also released a statement regarding the player, saying that he will not be returning to training grounds with the rest of the team nor play for the club till further notice.

“Manchester United reiterates its strong condemnation of violence of any kind. As previously communicated, Mason Greenwood will not train with, or play for, the club until further notice.” the statement read.

He is under contract with the Premier League club until 2025.
