Massive jubilation as Guinness World Records officially recognizes Afua Aduonum’s Sing-A-Thon attempt

Afua Aduonum Singathon: Afua Aduonum’s attempt at a sing-a-thon has been made public by Guinness World Records.

This information was made public following a Ghanaian journalist Abrantie Kwasi Gyamfi’s successful attempt to get a response from the organisation.

The body’s response indicated that it was aware of Afua’s Sing-A-Thon, but that she and her associates still needed to provide the required evidence before they could be taken seriously as genuine.

The Ghanaian women’s rights activist, journalist, and event planner Afua Asantewaa Owusu Aduonum gave up on her attempt to break the Guinness World Record after 126 hours and 52 minutes of singing nonstop, captivating the nation.

Although confirmation from Guinness World Record judges is still awaited, Asantewaa’s endeavour is thought to have greatly exceeded the previous record, which was established by Sunil Waghmare of India in 2012.

On December 24, 2023, at midnight, the marathon began. It ended early on December 29, 2023.
