The Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reported that police are investigating a rape complaint lodged against the French forward, prompting forensic officers to visit the Bank Hotel in Stockholm on Monday.

According to the report, the alleged incident occurred after Mbappé dined at a local restaurant and visited a nightclub with friends.

Mbappé took to social media platform X to respond, labeling the claims as “FAKE NEWS!!!!” He suggested the timing of the report was suspicious, coinciding with an upcoming hearing related to a dispute over unpaid wages from his former club, Paris Saint-Germain, where he claims he is owed €55 million (£45 million).

A police spokesperson confirmed that a probe is ongoing regarding a crime reported on October 10 in central Stockholm.

The investigation began after the alleged victim sought medical attention, although specific details of the complaint have not been publicly disclosed.

Mbappé’s entourage issued a statement condemning the allegations as “completely false and irresponsible.”

They announced intentions to pursue legal action against those perpetuating what they describe as a “methodical destruction” of his image.
