In testimony presented at an employment tribunal, Mendy stated, “We all had casual relations with women,” asserting that he and his teammates engaged in behavior that breached COVID-19 restrictions during the gatherings.

While he did not directly name any players during his statement, he referred to a previously published report that mentioned Riyad Mahrez, Jack Grealish, Kyle Walker, John Stones, and Raheem Sterling being present at such events.

Mendy, 30, claims that he was unfairly singled out by Manchester City, highlighting the fact that he was the only one publicly accused and humiliated.

He maintained that the club stopped his £500,000 monthly salary after he was charged with rape in August 2021, even though he was later cleared of all charges.

During the tribunal, Mendy expressed his belief that his contract had been breached. He stated, “It is my understanding that Manchester City are claiming the reason they did not have to pay me was because the thing that prevented me from playing… was a result of my own actions.

I firmly disagree. I was falsely arrested for crimes I did not commit.”

Mendy’s situation was further complicated by his financial struggles during his time away from football, revealing he was reliant on loans from teammates to manage his expenses.
