Lionel Messi, the captain of Argentina, stated on Thursday that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will “surely” be his final competition.

The 35-year-old soccer player reportedly stated that this will be his final world cup while speaking to ESPN-Argentina, despite the fact that he feels physically strong and had a much better preseason this year than he had in 2021.

“It’s my last World Cup, surely. I feel good physically, I was able to do a very good pre-season this year, which I couldn’t do last year. It was essential to get to where I am, with a good state of mind and a lot of hope,” – Messi told ESPN.

Messi made his international debut in 2007 and has 164 caps for Argentina since then.
